The Passing Of A Real Man.

Today, at Arlington National Cemetery, we lay to rest COL(R) Robert L. Howard... COL(R) Howard was arguably America's most highly decorated Warrior ever, earning more awards for valor (10) than Audie Murphy, but he was surely America’s most highly living warrior until his death...Wounded 14 times in 54 months of combat duty in Vietnam, Robert Howard was awarded 8 Purple Hearts and was believed to be the most decorated living American.

Colonel Howard served five tours in Vietnam and is the only soldier in our nation's history to be nominated for the Medal of Honor three times for three separate actions within a thirteen-month period. He received a direct appointment from Master Sergeant to 1st Lieutenant in 1969, and was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Richard M. Nixon at the White House in 1971. Colonel Howard is one of America's most decorated soldiers. His other awards for valor include the Distinguished Service Cross - our nation's second highest award, the Silver Star - the third highest award, and eight Purple Hearts. He was the last Vietnam Special Forces Medal of Honor recipient still on active duty when he retired on Sept. 29, 1992.

Do we need government to tell us to chew our food thoroughly?

First it was Michelle Obama reprimanding us for turning our kids into obese, health-care-system-saboteurs by feeding them too many PopTarts. Now, the good doctors over at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) want to save us from the dangers of ingesting geometrically challenged foodstuffs.

Major Taliban Operative Captured in Pakistan

Mulvi Kabir, the former Taliban governor in Afghanistan's Nangahar Province, and a key figure in the Taliban regime was recently captured in Pakistan, two senior U.S. officials tell Fox News.

Kabir, considered to be among the top ten most wanted Taliban leaders, was apprehended in the Naw Shera district of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier Province by Pakistani police forces in recent days.

p.s. The tied is quickly changing in Pakistan and Afghanistan. I wounder if the recent captures of high ranking Taliban leaders has increased the intel and down fall of the Taliban. "Mr. President?! Mr. President?! Are we "interviewing" these people nicely with milk, cookies, and lawyers in hand?" Follow up question: Where are these people being held? Gitmo? Oh! that's right we are closing Gitmo! NY?? IL?? Any Guesses?

Reid tries to resurrect public option

Ahead of next week's White House health reform summit, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has signed on to a plan to try to resurrect the public insurance option in the Senate and signaled a willingness to use a 51-vote majority if needed to get it through.

Story Here.

p.s. The Republicans are walking into a trap with this health care reform summit at the WhiteHouse next week. The American people have overwhelmingly rejected government run health care. The Republicans have the chance to stand firm and say, "we hear you and understand." Instead, they are giving ground by meeting at the WhiteHouse with the Dems and President to talk about how to move forward on government run health care! When will they stop and understand we don't want it?! I think they are making a big mistake and its going to hurt. Time to make our voice heard again.

Even Boulder CO Finds It Isn’t Easy Going Green

The city of Boulder, CO is superlative in many ways: It is one of the most educated, most affluent, most liberal and most environmentally conscious cities around. According to an article in a recent Wall Street Journal, though, Boulder is having a tough time converting its citizens’ tree-hugging attitudes into meaningful actions.

Thus exposed is a fundamental aspect of human nature. Whatever we may say we like, People Hate Change. It’s one thing to adopt a self-flattering pose to impress a pollster or to cop a public image, but quite another voluntarily to sacrifice money, time or convenience for a nebulous collective benefit.

Ken Tomlinson: Can a Hoosier farmer produce another Massachusetts miracle for Republicans?

A notable buzz surrounded youthful Indiana State Sen. Marlin Stutzman as he was escorted around this week’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) by activist Donna Weisner. “Back in Indiana, they say he’s our Scott Brown,” she said proudly.

Stutzman supporters elatedly boasted news of a Rasmussen poll that gives Stutzman a ten-point lead over the likely Democrat nominee for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Evan Bayh.

All this is a stunning development for the young farmer and businessman who only four years ago was the youngest member of the Indiana legislature. In Washington power circles former Sen. Dan Coats has been all but anointed the GOP nominee for the Bayh seat.

No! They Didn't!?

I guess this is what the President thinks of the Dalai Lama...force him out the back door with all the other trash so that China does not get the wrong idea about their meeting. Heaven forbid that we cause a problem with the ChiCom's. But what message does that send to the rest of the world? Now I have to ask the question: Was the President's meeting with the Dalai Lama "real" or just a photo op.? To show the world that he "embraces everyone?" Now consider that no pictures were taken of the President and Dalai Lama together and what do you get? This picture....
